I suffered from migraines for more than thirty years of my life. They often lasted for days at a time and would strike seven to nine times a month. Medications such as Imitrex and Ralpax helped to relieve the intense pain but often brought on 'rebound' headaches. I found myself in an exhaustive cycle of nausea, muscle tenseness, sinus congestion and physical pain for weeks at a time. Medical tests for MRI's, CAT scans, allergy tests and TMJ, failed to identify the cause of the migraines. Desperate for help, I turned to alternative medicine under Dr. Ezhuthachan's care. Nutrition, detoxing and allergy elimination were addressed first. Acidic foods and other chemical triggers were identified as the cause of most of the migraines. By introducing more alkaline foods and eliminating certain combinations of foods from my diet I saw an immediate decrease in the occurrence and intensity of the headaches. My sinus congestion cleared up and the stiffness in my neck and shoulder muscles went away. Today I no longer suffer from rebound headaches and the onset of a migraine is less often and less intense.
